How much is burning a hole in your pocket?
I suggest going to dual processors...

Whoops. Db post.
I would say dual p3 on an Intel chipset or Dual p4 xeon on an i860
my opinion is totaly biased due to my repeated bad luck with amd in the past.

If you want a cheap duallie board, the ECS 6DVAA. It can be had for around $60, making it the cheapest duallie board available. It has optional HighPoint HPT370 RAID. It's based on the Via Apollo Pro 133A chipset with the 686B southbridge. Pentium 3's go in it. Unless you have a buttload of cash, the (P4) Xeon's are gonna be waaaaay too expensive. They would be nice to have, tho.
I haven't really had problems with AMD chips, but that's me. I'm really not partial for the home setting between the companies in the desktop market. Corporate scenario, Intel and ServerWorks (big $$$$$$$) all the way.
Your system looks pretty tight M4, so you could always hold onto it, or get that case.
Nice rig, Inferno. How ya like your 60GXP? My 2 in RAID 0 are rather quick Nice jet-engine too:p

Hey Ill just make it clear that ive never had probs with amds chips, i had a slot athlon 700mhz with an amd irongate (750/751) chipset and it ran great. But my other boards, Via KX133 and the KT133a always had some stupid problems which took hours/days of tweaking to get stable
So my problem isnt really the chips, i know they are faster than the p4s atm, but they are just not stable enough with those stupid via chipsets (at least for me).
Think the case i will get is......
http://www.coolermaster.com/products/atc/atc200.html
Its silver but has a kinda black front which would look great with some black drives when the time comes to change em.
BTW Brian, your running 2x60GXPs in RAID0 like me Any chance you could do some benchies I need to make sure mine are running right, and what strip size did u use?

well there is 2 things i would like to add. one my backspace key don't work no more, andi want to build a wooded cube case http://www.virtual-hideout.net/cool_case/page212.shtml that the case i want to build because cube cases are to much to buy
Yeah, cases are becoming expensive nowadays with all the cool designs.
Well, my CPU and heatsink have been shipped. I should see them wednesday or thursday. AYHJA 1.4GHz T-bird...mmm.
Bad news is I'm gonna have to get used to a hair dryer in my room. Oh well, speed has it's price.

M4--which benches. I can whip out sandra real quick and run some stuff. Don't know how great it'll be, but oh well. I'm using the HPT370 controller, FYI. All I know is that UT loads rather quickly on this system.
Some parts of sandra i like, such as the cpu mips bit and the memory bandwidth. They are a good guide to see if everything is working and to see what effect (if any) that last tweak had on the system. Some of the bits of it though are terrible like the HDD test and especially the information, it seems to actually guess most of the things rather than work them out
In summary....good tool but dont trust it with your life
Brian if you could just knock out some sandra benchies and tell me what version of the bios/driver you are using it would be much appreciated I still find the HDD test a good indication of the overall speed even though its not that accurate.

i never really benchmark.just 3dmark

Well I got a stick of 256MB PC2100 DDR and my T-Bird 1.4GHz AYHJA-Y:D and my Vantec CCK-6027D. The Vantec is actually a tad quiter than the FOP 32 I had on the Duron 8)
