I don't even know, but for a $150 chip it's amazing. Once I get Photoshop installed I post the basic benchmarks that I have so far from this (I need shrink the files a bit before posting online), but I can tell you that they are close to what is posted here, but just a bit lower since I am not running at 2.56GHz (oh, and I think I have read of another person that went passed 2.4GHz as well).

I would go Via over ALi as well. So, a no vote to ALi for me.

As bad as people bash Via, I've been rather pleased with their chipsets for what I do. I haven't run into any major issues, other than a few Nvidia drivers, and a few cases of user error.

ALi just doesn't have what it takes, at least from what I've read.

That'd be cool, and I live where I can use refridgerent for cooling and it'll be legal.

Or you could try the mighty Swiftech MCA 462A, if you want to do this moderately cheap.

I have the swiftech mcx478 on my p4, it keeps everything frosty. Interestingly authough its using an 80mm delta its not very loud in blowing mode, but if you turn it round it gives you worse cooling and it sounds like a vacuum cleaner

I'll probably wait for a new board, but I may look into the Epox KT333 board when it hits. That or the 8KHA+ in the future. But first, when I get my tax return, I'm getting a new monitor.

Just upped my proc to 150FSB (Quad-Pimped ), so now my little 1.6GHz is running at 2.4GHz. I had bumped the voltage to 1.55, but I might bring it back down again to see what happens.
