Well, the Epox is in. Had to up the memory voltage before WinXP would stop giving me a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD. I also found out the HTP372 controller doesn't like my rounded cables...
Yeah, the Northwood is a nice overclocker. I know some dude that's trying to hit 2.6 with his 1.6A, and he might do it too with his H2O setup.
I found out something: shims suck! I had one on my T-bird and it was preventing me from using anything but the default multiplier. That sucked!
yea shims allways seemed kinda sketchy to me
Taken me a while to get a pc im happy with!.....

I don't have a huge heatsink anyway, so the shim is kinda pointless and I haven't killed a core yet.

Criminy! My 8K3A+ died, and I'm sending back for a full refund from Newegg. On the upside, I got an Abit NV7-133R to replace it. This mutha is loaded, and could probably change my stance on Abit. So far (and it hasn't been long) it's given me no problems. On a side note, this is the first non-Via chipset motherboard I've used in one of my personal machines for at least 2 years (440BX last non-Via one for me).
Just built
1.6a @2240mhz
1.6a @2240mhz
well i learned that my cpu can run 172 f and not die, cause i had to turn my fans off a minute and forgot to turn them back on and when i got back my comp was crashed and restarted and it wouldn't boot into windows so i reset itand i pauseed on the temp thing and my cpu was 172 so i remembered to turn my fans back

At idle - 28C
Full Hard @ss Load - 40C
I maxed the cpu out at 100% for 5 hours, and the temp
never went over 40C

Of course that depends on if my AC is running or not.
I've seen it idle at 26C
and be at full load running at 35C
Just depends on ambient room temp for me.
Mine is not overclocked. Standard CPU
