Benq fp951 w/ ATI Radeon 7500

hey all,

bought a new benq fp951 lcd and am having a real annoying brightness issue (using DVI). monitors preset was way too bright so turned contrast and brightness to zero on the monitor OSD but it made little difference. So i turned settings down via my radeon 7500 desktop settings and it was great. BUT after every reboot or graphics applications the monitors bright preset(?) comes back. very annoying. its blinding at night
Windows loads on the correct settings then changes jus b4 its done loading. I have all the latest drivers, and even tried uninstalling the monitor driver. talked to benq and they say its ATI related...

pleeeeeeeeeeze help, monitor would be great but i feel like returning it!! ahh!

I'm having the same brightness problem when using the DVI input.
Anyone found a solution yet?
