Best way to do a "clean" install for my new SB Aud

Do I have to format and re-install Windows XP Pro again or do I just remove my old sound card, restart XP Pro, it removes the sound drivers because there's no sound card installed, then I insert my new SB Audigy w/1394 OEM, XP Pro detects that I have a sound card, asks for drivers and I just install them?
Or is there a better way to do a "clean" install?

Uninstall all of Creative's stuff first, shut down machine, swap Live! with Audigy, restart, install Audigy software.

Yeah...I upgraded from an SBLive! to an audigy oem. I formatted about 2 days after. Things were running slow as hell.
yeah many people have reported problems when not formatting after replacing their Live.
