bigger problem then my ff7 sound

my game freezes within the first battle. or if im lucky ill win and then screen will go black then i hit enter and it exits me out wtf.

My game does the exact same thing!! I just reformatted my computer from ME to 2000 NT and it wont get very far - first battle. Can anyone help us out here??
