Browsing files over a LAN
We have a peer to peer network running around 10 PCs which are a mixture of 98, XPpro and even a W2Kpro machines. The problem is that when either the XP or W2K machines browse folders with a large number of files on the PC acting as the server, it takes ages to access them.

The server is running XPpro but we had the problem even when the server was running 98SE.
Machines running 98SE have no problem browing the server.
It's doing my head in!!!!!!!!!!!

Might want to give searching a try next time, as this comes up quite a bit.
