IIRC, BT is a UK ISP.

Enough TLAs for you?

I've had this slight problem on every BT dial-up account I've set up. It always seemed to go away after connecting a couple of times. I'm not sure but I think it had something to do with the automatic setup routine from the registration stage.

You could always setup the dial-up connection manually.

So it's true that British Telecom has a lot of problems with Dial-up and DSL. Sounds like it really bad over there but nothing unlike it is over here.
