And shopping around new egg. I wanting to spend about $300 on a processor. Which AMD chip would you recommend? This is going to be a gaming rig. Thanks!.

Any of the s939 Athlon 64 series of chips are the best you can get short of the FX series. 3200+ and 3400+ are very good deals for the cost. Stay away from Sempron and s754 Athlon 64s.
