can't boot up due to Stop: inaccessible boot device
This is a discussion about can't boot up due to Stop: inaccessible boot device in the Customization Tweaking category; running w2k and all has been well - no changes to drives in the last 2 months until tonight. The power went out twice tonight and my computer wouldn't reboot - I can't go into safe mode or original configuration - I only get blue screen message: stop: 07b inaccessible_boot_device.

I would really appreciate step by step advice on this one. I have my w2k cd if that is helpful - but I don't know if or how I can boot from it. I am out of ideas:(
Thanks for any help.

I like this, Alec§taar is on a roll, its not everyday you get someone that knows everything and is willing to help with a smile. Well done, thanks Alec§taar.
Now, eberenholz, if it is not possible to recover or find your hard drive with those neat recovery tools on the CD, you could try one more thing to make sure that its not your hard drive that went bang, you could connect it to IDE2 instead of IDE1 and try to boot up, I've seen IDE's sleeping with the fish after a power out, not too often, but it happens.
