Can't delete .chm files

I am trying to delete a folder of my hard drive but I can't seem to delete the. chm files within the folder. Can anyone help me out with this please? Oh I am running XP pro if that makes a difference Thanks in advance.

Which folder? Most help files are in C:\Windows\help but would be considered as system files, you may have to shutdown Help and Support service before removing them...

These are from Autocad. Help & Support is turned, always turn it of when I reinstall.
