Does the account (in which you are trying to play it) have Administrator rights?

Error code 2 is:
"The system cannot find the file specified."

Is this XP Pro or Home?
What DirectX version you have installed?
Try installing DirectX End-User Runtimes -December 2006.

Also, try installing v1.61 Patch, if you have not yet installed it.

Yes, the account has Administrator rights. This is XP Home. Not sure what version of directx is on here. When running the Directx Diagnostic Tool, is says version is "not found". Under the DirectX File tab, in the notes box it says, " the file gcdef.dll is an old version, which could cause problems. Thanks for any help I can get.

Save this registry file and import (doubleclick it and answer yes) it to registry.
It sets DirectX version to 9.0c in registry.
After you have imported it, check version using the dxdiag.

Then try reinstalling it, using that dec 2006 version.

When i click on the link, when using windows explorer, then media player comes up and says it can't play file. When I try to open it using firefox, all that shows up is a large Quicktime logo with a question mark in the middle. Thanks once again.

Right click the link and select save as / save target as, and save the file to desktop.

Now start registry editor (start->run: regedit), select File -> Import and select the file you saved to desktop. It should be now imported.
