Hey all,
I can't for the life of me get the mission packs for Quake 2 to install on Win2k. Every time I go to install them they both come back with:
_INS5176_MP.EXE has generated errors and will be closed.
Has any one else come across this and know how to work around it or know what is causing this? Quake 2 is installed and working great, just no mission packs. Thanks.

Try the compatibility mode and set them to Windows 95, it should install then. If not go to planetquake.com forums and search for mission packs and winxp or win2k, some people have a method of manually unzipping the archives and setting up the games to work that way.
Good luck. I know it works, but I have moved to XP now and I just set the compatibility to Win95 and it install fine.
Create a shortcut to the setup.exe on the CD onto the desktop and set it for Win95. Then run the installer, it should work.
