Can't shut down win2k
This is a discussion about Can't shut down win2k in the Windows Hardware category; I can't shut down Win2k properly. Everytime I try to restart or shutdown (or even log off admin) the process devldr. exe comes up and cannot shut itself off. When I hit end now, nothing happens. Can't shutdown, restart, log off, etc.
I can't shut down Win2k properly. Everytime I try to restart or shutdown (or even log off admin) the process "devldr.exe" comes up and cannot shut itself off. When I hit end now, nothing happens. Can't shutdown, restart, log off, etc., and no programs run because windows is "supposedly" shutting down. Please help...

You can probably blame your sound card for this. Look at this thread:

Thanks for the reply. I checked that string and found it helpful to mess around with the suggestions there for the file devldr.exe. I'm having no problem shutting down now. Thanks again!
