CD burner don't work
This is a discussion about CD burner don't work in the Windows Hardware category; Hi I have a well know problem, but I don't know how to fix it. I have a Sony 10X RW under win2k but no burner program finds it. I first installed winoncd that comes with the burner. ITs a fairly new version and it is known to work.

I have a Sony 10X RW under win2k but no burner program finds it.
I first installed winoncd that comes with the burner. ITs a fairly new version and it is known to work. But it can't find the burner....thinks its a normal cd reader.
Then installed Easy CD creator 4, but no luck there either.
What do I do? Do I need some ASPI thing? or? Its a IDE writer.

If u use ezcd creator go to roxio.com and download the latest update there. You don't need to install aspi support cause it comes with ezcd creator. The most recent version update is 4.03 I think that should fix u up.
4.0 comes with it's own internal ASPI support.
if your whole system is ide then u wouldnt need aspi
aspi= advanced scsi program interface

not true.... aspi drivers can be used to access ide drives as well. For example, AudioCatalyst needs aspi drivers to rip audio at high speeds in win2k, whether or not your drive is scsi.

Yup, aspi drivers are needed in win2k for aspi ripping, or, you could rip @ real time!!!
