CD-R/RW-Kelsey
I'm running Windows ME. Some time ago I purchased a CD-R/RW from Dell and installed it. It is a Samsung CD-R/RW SW240B Uses Creative Disc Detector v 1. 55(1998) Creative Technology Uses Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Basic It works great on CD-R.

It works great on CD-R. If I put in a CDRW, it doesn't recognize that I have put a disc in. Can't read or write or anything(not even format)as it keeps saying "put in the disc".
Looking at the Creative Disc Detector it says that I have a CD-R/RW SW240B and the disc detector box is enabled but it never detects that a disc is in place. With CD-R it works fine.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong or how to fix?

I have a DELL with a Samsung CD-R/RW SW-240B. I had similar problems with Roxio 7.0. Plus, the drive would kick the CDR out after only 60% of the burn was complete. Try upgrading the firmware cause that solved my problem. Samsung has driver download support on their website.
