cd-rom problems

This is a discussion about cd-rom problems in the Windows Hardware category; Hi there, I'm only new to all this stuff. But i was wondering if any body could help me, I got given a cross stitch cd-rom for xmas. And it will not run, Problem says 16 bit windows subsystem. it tells me that c:\windows\system32\autoexec.

I'm only new to all this stuff. But i was wondering if any body could help me, I got given a cross stitch cd-rom for xmas. And it will not run, Problem says 16 bit windows subsystem.
it tells me that c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt.is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications.
i have all the system requirements. I have been told to update my graphic card which is GeForce4 MX 4000 will this help me? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The way this is normally fixed is by copying the two files autoexec.nt and config.nt found in \Windows\repair to the folder \Windows\system32.
 
The cd you've been given was meant to run under Windows 98. Therefore, you will have to run it in compatibility mode - right click on the .exe you want to run, choose Properties, then click on the Compatibility tab and then choose Window 98
