chocobo racing error, final fantasy 7
I want to bet on the chocobo races at the gold saucer, but every time I try my computer screen goes black and then gives me the whole unexpected error. . . program needs to close. . . blahblahblah I can get up to the screen where you select which ones you wanna bet on but as soon as I hit start it does this.

I have a windows 2000 and I've never had any other problems with this game until now. Any ideas would be appreciated.

There's actually an official patch for the game that fixes crashing at the chocobo races. You can find it here: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/finalfantasy7/downloads.html

You really should use all the fan-made patches for the game. Even Eidos site links to one of the
fan-made patches. There is even improved models for the game (!).
