Is your sound onboard or a pci card ?
If its onboard you need to know what motherboard you have (manufacturer and model).

I really dont know, iv never needed to know. Im assuming its onboard but i dont know. But i do know i dont need to know that to fix this problem, because i did it before. It was on this forum a while back.

On second look i see i have a SIS 962 card. I dled the driver but as i suspected it didnt change anything. My computer just doesnt see i HAVE a sound card.
Did you ever get this fixed!? I just reformatted and can't get it fixed now?
If it is a PCI sound card, try going to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall any Onboard sound stuff. but only if its a sound card.
