Cicero computer.. cannot get sound working!!! please help

Im a little n00b when it comes to computers but this is just pissing me right off. It doesnt recognize that i have a sound device. It just shows i have Multimedia Audio Controller. I dont know what sound device i do have (sadly.

Im a little n00b when it comes to computers but this is just pissing me right off. It doesnt recognize that i have a sound device. It just shows i have "Multimedia Audio Controller". I dont know what sound device i do have (sadly. I know i fixed it before because there was a thread on this forum that told me what to do but i cant seem to find it now. All my computer does is beep.. PLEASE HELP ME!

Is your sound onboard or a pci card ?
If its onboard you need to know what motherboard you have (manufacturer and model).

I really dont know, iv never needed to know. Im assuming its onboard but i dont know. But i do know i dont need to know that to fix this problem, because i did it before. It was on this forum a while back.

On second look i see i have a SIS 962 card. I dled the driver but as i suspected it didnt change anything. My computer just doesnt see i HAVE a sound card.

If it is a PCI sound card, try going to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall any Onboard sound stuff. but only if its a sound card.
