Clean install Win XP
Is there any way to instal XP from dos with some sort of boot diskette or do i have to do clean instal from(for instance millenium)? Im running Win XP Pro Final version,i selected clean instal from millenium, XP replaced old files but that doesn't sound clean,i wana do it from DOS so i can be sure that im doing tha ...
Is there any way to instal XP from dos with some sort of boot diskette or do i have to do clean instal from(for instance millenium)? Uhh, you need to format the drive for a clean install. You should be able to do this in the WinXP setup. Just boot off the XP disc...
You don't need to use DOS at all: just boot off of the XP disc. Make sure your CD-ROM is set as the first boot device in BIOS.
I know for a fact that it does. Win2k and XP I'm positively sure they will boot from the CD-ROM, but I can't comment on NT never having used it. The exception to booting off the CD is if it's an older CD drive.
