Counterstrike

This is a discussion about Counterstrike in the Windows Games category; I have a geforce 2 ultra on Win2k Professional. When I play counter-strike, everything is smooth, but when i suddenly turn or jump, half of a texture of a box, or character starts missings and becomes jagged.

I have a geforce 2 ultra on Win2k Professional. When I play counter-strike, everything is smooth, but when i suddenly turn or jump, half of a texture of a box, or character starts missings and becomes jagged. Also when I jump and go fast, its not smooth. I have done the clock tweaking already, and turned on Antiliasing to the highest. Also, should anistropic filtering be turned on (i have it turned on). THanks for the help!

Hi... that could sound like a graphic problem!
try turn Vsync ON in ur graphic settings or in your tweak program.

I use Nvmax myself ... it's a very good program for tweaking and overclocking Nvidia's cards....

Just out of curiosity, what opengl driver are you using with that gforce2 card?

Peace,

If Vsync is on, then you will get slightly lower frame rates (they are limited by the refresh rate of your monitor), but you will not get any tearning.

By turning Vsync off, the PC renders frames as fast as it can, but sometimes the frames are rendered part way through a screen refresh, and you and you get tearing.

*sigh*

Come on people, look what he said:

This is obviously the problem, he's running FSAA at 4x4 - hasn't told us what CPU he's got. For all we know, he's got a K6-III 450 or something shite like that...

As for the V-sync issue, half-life seems to limit the fps to 30 if v-sync on, so make sure it's off.
Make sure you've got SP1 on there as well, and you should find games run perfectly.
