CPU Cooler for Barton 3000+
This is a discussion about CPU Cooler for Barton 3000+ in the Windows Hardware category; The topic says it all, but basically I have a Vantec Aeroflow and at 100% load, it runs at 47 degrees celcius, that is far too much for me, because in my city, during the months of June to August, it gets up to 40+ degrees celcius outside, and even hotter in here.

Anyways, I am curious if anyone has seen any good CPU coolers that would give me say 40 degrees at 100% load or so, and not water cooling, I am not about to venture in to that.
Thanks

Hi, you could have a look at Themaltake's SLK-900

I've seen several overclocking stores saying it is the best performance cooler for Athlon XP and Pentium 4s. However, it does come at a price and you have to buy your own fan to go with it.

So what's a good and EXTREMELY QUIET air-based cooling system compatible with Athlons?
I suppose the Zalman Flower CNPS6000 is a good example of a near silent cooling solution for the Athlon. However, its only rated up to the Athlon XP 2600+ CPU.

You could also try out the Coolermaster HHC-L61 Silent Super Heat-Pipe. Its not as quiet as the Zalman but it does offer a little more performace allowing it to be rated upto the Athlon 2800+

I hear the Zalmans are very quiet but don't do too well cooling.

they can give u great advice on what to get!
PS - be very carefuly with that cooler - for alot of people with AMD's it does not fit on their mobo and they have to bend transitors to make it fit - make sure u measure that u got enough room to fit that cooler.
