Crazy ICS?
Hi there! I'm having some problems with XP pro ICS, sharing cable connection to other 2 XP pro computers. PC1 have the cable connection and shares it with ICS to PC2 and PC3 through a switch. I have internet on PC2 and PC3 and everything works fine for browsing and email.
Hi there!
I'm having some problems with XP pro ICS, sharing cable connection to other 2 XP pro computers.
PC1 have the cable connection and shares it with ICS to PC2 and PC3 through a switch. I have internet on PC2 and PC3 and everything works fine for browsing and email.
The problem is, that PC1 seems like stoping to share internet connection once in a while for a couple of seconds (i see the connection icon disappearing and appearing again on PC2 and PC3).
So i can't have a persistent connection on PC2 and PC3. I can't use MSN, IRC or play games on those two.
Could anyone help?
Thanks

Hmmm...
If you're seeing the connention ICON actually disappear from PC2 and PC3, you may want to check if your switch is the problem (either not getting enough power or possibly faulty). The reason I suggest this is because if you're seeing the Connection ICON disappear it means that no power period is reaching it from the Hub or switch itself. If you have a full functioning spare then I would suggest using it for awhile and see if the same things occurs. If you don't have a spare then get hold of a twisted pair patch chord and just go directly from PC1 (ICS router) to just one of either PC2 or PC3 and see if the connection drops. If it doesn't then you know the problem lies somewhere with your switch/hub.
Hope that helps
