Creative drivers drop audio level w/ SB Live Value on 2k
This is a discussion about Creative drivers drop audio level w/ SB Live Value on 2k in the Windows Hardware category; I tried Creatives last driver for the SB Live Value card over the stock 2k drivers and it dropped the audio output down 10-15db. Anyone else notice this? I also didn't notice any real difference between the audio quality.

Yes I have seen the same problem. I think if you get the drivers from windows update, you won't have the problem.
I had the same issue.

Gee...........over 440 views and only one response.......not very good guys!
I'm running SP 4 if that matters
What/where is the update you mentioned?
Someone else suggested trying drivers from the KX project with their control panel and they seem to work ok:

It's actually not a problem. If you compare stock windows 2000/xp SBLive! drivers with latest creative driver, the new one have better sound quality. Because creative may have additional filter to improve the sound, but it'll decrease the volume.
