Creative Labs 48x CD-ROM Disappearing
This is a discussion about Creative Labs 48x CD-ROM Disappearing in the Windows Hardware category; I am having a strange problem with my 48x Creative Labs IDE CD-ROM (model CD4831E). The drive will function fine for a while but after the drive spins down sometimes the computer says it has been disconnected.
I am having a strange problem with my 48x Creative Labs IDE CD-ROM (model CD4831E). The drive will function fine for a while but after the drive spins down sometimes the computer says it has been disconnected. The drive then disappears from the system and the CD in the drive is locked in there, the only way it will come back is if I reboot. The drive is on its own controller. My Panasonic SCSI CDR 7502B works fine as a CD reader at least.
