This is a discussion about CS and W2k problem...Help!! in the Windows Games category; I'm having trouble starting CS under W2k. This didn't happened before. I don't know what went wrong. Everytime I try to start CS under W2k I'm getting Net_SendPacket ERROR:WSAEINVAL Help!!.

Are you talking about Crimson Skies because it runs great in Win2k on my system.
head over to counter-strike.net and post a thread there. they should be able to help you, i have never had a problem that someone didnt help me fix.

Your best bet is to install Hl again.
Download the FULL patch of CS..not the update, and also patch up to TFC1.5 (of course)
This problem is sometimes caused by up[censored] the patch of cs. I know its a big dl, but it will cure your problem methinks.

whoah easy trigger. I think the best way to go about solving the problem is to do a reinstall of HL and then to patch to the lastest version then d/l CS again. Its very well known that the HL engine has complications with win2k but dont look at valve to fix it or at least contact valve and see what they can do or if they know about it.
