Hey all,
I have a problem trying to purchase more RAM for my dad's Dell pc. It uses PC2100 RAM and currently has Samsung cl2.5 DDR 133 256mb. I purchased a 512 stick of RAM that was gauranteed to be compatible with the Samsung RAM, but in the Dell RAM slot, there seems to be an extra notch in the RAM sticks that need to go into it. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find this Dell specific RAM with the extra notch in it?? If I weren't up at college I would post a picture of the current RAM stick. I upgraded his processor and video card and the PC runs great for being 4 years old! We really would like to avoid getting a new PC for him, since he has already put some extra money into it. Any ideas or help or just a link to a site would be very much appreciated!
Thank you in advance

Hi Tool,
I exclusively buy RAM from Micron at Crucial.com. Crucial is Micron's RAM division and store. They sell lifetime guaranteed RAM, it's also guaranteed to be compatible, and has gold leads for good conductivity. All you have to do is go to crucial.com and it has a wizard, select dell, then the model number, and away you go, it'll only list parts that are compatible with your specific system. It sounds like you bought PC133 RAM when you should have bought PC2100, you'll have to return it.
Cheers,
Christian
