Desktop Icons and Video Drivers
I just installed Whistler 2257 today and so far I love it, I'm just having 2 small problems. The first is I only have 2 icons on the desktop: recycle bin and report a bug. How do I add more? Especially the My Computer icon.
I just installed Whistler 2257 today and so far I love it, I'm just having 2 small problems. The first is I only have 2 icons on the desktop: recycle bin and report a bug. How do I add more? Especially the My Computer icon. My second problem is that I cannot install the newest Nvidia drivers. I browse to the folder the drivers are in and Whistler tells me theres no drivers in it. I would like to get the drivers installed so that I can play games. Please help. Thanks

I would explain to you why they did this, but all that i'll tell you is that, they have the removal of those icons to test to see if they work right in the Start Panel. If you would like to enable them on the desktop, you have to switch to classic start menu for now.
Next, I have been able to install the latest Det 3 drivers from Nvidia just fine onto Whistler. Check to make sure that you have the .inf file with the information in it.

Whistler is or will be better than Windows 2000, if you don't think so, get a reality check and hope it doesn't bounce.

Thanks for the help I now have the icons that I want on the desktop now as for the Nvidia driver problem. I have all the needed files for the drive (6.31) but Whistler tells me that the wizard could not find a better match for you hardware. These are the newest leaked drivers for the Geforce. Should I first remove the generic Microsoft drivers and then try installing the Nvidia ones?
try useing the have disk option windows will never want to take the unsigned det drivers over its own crappy ass version.
