Arcanum, was IMO a very fun RPG.

the ability to go techno or magic was very cool.

We seem to be going from RPG->Adventure->ClickFest light-RPG.

What next? Interactive Movie FF7+?

Darn, already went there.....

How about FPS with RPG elements?

NOLF2, Deus EX , Thief?

Look for Gothic 2 ENGLISH sometime in late feb'2003

you can try out Gothic 1 still kicking. Rest 2001-2002 rpgs cant even be labled as rpgs

Games that spring to mind:

Ultima 7 Part 1 & 2 (playable under Win32 now with the Exult application.)
Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 (solid long RPGs from the creators of Fallout 1 & 2, but if you didn't like Icewind Dale's graphics...)

Dunno if I'd count Diablo II as a RPG but it's a great game.

I would say diablo 2 is an RPG and to be honest it is one of teh greatest games ive played. another great game would be might and magic 8 (it is by far better than number 9 aswell even though it is an earlier one)

If you fancy a fun, easy to pick game then you can try Command & Conquer Renegade. Personally I cant stand the actual single player game however the online multiplayer is great.

The best thing is that though the game is old, there is a fanstastic user community that develop patches and utilities (e.g. Renguard anticheat). Also the game servers are pretty well suported with all sorts of ladders, contests etc. The Clan following is pretty large too.

Anyhow ill shut up now.. this game has stood the test of time for sure
