Detonator 21.83 suck in DirectX ???
This is a discussion about Detonator 21.83 suck in DirectX ??? in the Windows Hardware category; Hey there. . . noticed this when switching to DirectX mode in Counterstrike. I always played in OpenGL, I wanted to give it a try in DX. Well, the performance blows majorly. . . i got 31 FPS compared to 72 FPS in GL (limited though by my config script - online gaming optimized).

I thought I'm not seeing it well, so i rebooted, fired up CS, changed to DX mode again, and same thing happened...around 25-30 FPS, lol.
I don't remember having this problem with the previous version (the non-WHQLed one).
Any ideas?

No counterstrike(halflife) just sucks in d3d.
those drivers do too. The 21.85 drivers fix a supposed problem with DX, at least that is what i read on 3dchipset.
dets4 all suck, all but 20.80(so so)for me 12.90 are still the best in dx, 10.80 in opengl(if i could just mix them).
