I am using the lastest Detonator from nvidia.com: ver. 28.23.
If I try to run a game in software mode it runs okay (on a lower resolution)... The framerates are almost the same at 640x480 and at 1024x768...
Shuld I try some earlyer Detonator drivers? Which one?
Thanks,

Detonator 28.xx works best for GF4 Cards. Try to use Det 27.XX or 25.XX. But if you want the best Det. for your GF2, i'll recommend the 25.50 driver. It's the best driver for GF2 cards according to Tweakers Asylum. I have both GF2 & GF4, I used 27.70 on my GF4 and 25.50 on my GF2. They work flawless on any games.

I've been very happy with the 21.81's, tho I'd recommend d/ling them from the company that made your card.

You see, Windows XP consumes more processor resources then other Wondows of 9x family. You should upgrade your processor to have more fps in the games under Windows XP.
IMHO, the drivers couldn't possibly change the framerate in the games more then for 3-5 fps.

not meaning to create an inflamatory environment, or in any way lower the tone of this forum, but you are a complete nubbin
'wondows' is not a member of the windows 9x series
your humblest of opinions clearly amounts to nothing, as in my experiance, drivers can give 20 / 30 extra frames per second under certain circumstances, i remember this being especially prominant with the drivers from 7.x to 13.x on my geforce ddr
please dont share ignorance, keep it tucked well away where no-one will be influenced by its largely adverse effects
and edd_dxb, my experiance is largely the same as yours in that case, my geforce 4 ti loves the 27.70s

Sorry for my bad English, but I wanted to say that Windows XP (built on NT tecnology) consumes more resources then the Windows of 9x family. Is it clear that way?

mostly under synthetic tests? May be... But not in Quake3, Aquanox, UT, Giants, NFS5 or such games. I know, some drivers give great boost in sertain tests in 3DMark2001. So what? Who plays 3DMark2001???
And you want to tell me that Windows XP consomes less or the same quantity of resourses as Windows 98SE does? Don't make me lough... You can feel the difference between them on PIII-800 (like in the case of this topic)
P.S. By the way, do you realy think that the new version of drivers could help iks to obtain more FPS? He's got an TNT2! But for your card the drivers just starting to be optimized. So don't compare you situation with situation of iks. Besides, your processor is a little bit more powerful then his
