Dial-up Network Connections

Hello again:

The computer which I have Win2K Pro installed on is used by just two users on a regular basis, each with their own account. When a user logs off, Windows automatically ends any dial-up connections. Is there a way to stop it doing this, so that if user1 connects and logs off, the connection would still be there when user2 logs on?

Thanks,
Russell

Not quite sure, maybe you need to get the dial up connection to run as a service not as an application. Maybe one of the more techie guys will know how to do this?

If you are using a dialup device, you can logon a different user and not have to disconnect your net connection. To do this open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon, right click and select New -> String Value. Name it 'KeepRasConnections' (minus the ' '), hit enter and give it the value 1.
reboot for it to take effect. Hope this helps out.
