Direct connect between two computers

This is a discussion about Direct connect between two computers in the Windows Networking category; The matter is that there is an access to Internet on one of the computers. Does anybody know how to directly connect two PC's by means of two ethernet cards and one cable. Thanx a lot.

Sure, you could add a second NIC to the machine with the internet access, and assuming that the other non-internet PC has a NIC, all you would need is a crossover cable. These crossover cables can either be made or bought quite easily, for about $15, or so, depending on legnth.

Hi Alexiz,
Once you have the two computers communicating properly over your network you would then want to set up internet connection sharing. That is assuming you have Windows 98SE or higher otherwise you'll want to set up a proxy. You can find help on setting up internet connenction sharing in Windows Help (I've read the windows 2000 help on it. I don't know if the Millenium or 98SE help is any good, but I'm sure the XP version is about the same). Adam you da man .
Cheers,
Christian
