Hi all of you intelligent people out there---maybe you can help me figure out how to get my windows media player to work. I have tried to reinstall WMP but the bios wont let me do a full uninstall and i am a little camera shy when it comes to going into there and changing the value for WMP to work. I was going to try it but since my laptop is not working right now either i wouldnt want to have the possibility of me then having BOTH of my computers screwed up and then i would have to go to see my tech. I am trying to stay away from him as much as possible in hopes that i can fix it myself and save me some moolah. I have already got rid of as much as i could of WMP items with a good file shredder.. I downloaded winamp and it was at that point that i found out the nullsoft output driver was to blame. Only now i am finding out what a fiasco i now have to go thru to get sound out of my computer! Is there anybody out there who can guide me to fix it? and what in the heck is a spooler? is that a hardware or software problem from my printer?

i am a woman and believe it or not i do have a bit of technical jargon under my belt when it comes to computers. I found that trojan or was it a worm?? that was piggybacking itself to a microsoft update and got into my computer and f****d it up. I have managed to fix that computer enough so that i can get online, surf and what not but my copy=paste function will not work, i have no sound at all and i dont have the taskbar on the bottom of my screen. I CANNOT find my start button at all,...
