DirectX and Win NT 4.0
This is a discussion about DirectX and Win NT 4.0 in the Windows Games category; I have several games that require DirectX 7 to run & would like to run them on my system. I currently have Windows NT 4. 0 with SP 6A. I also have the un-official DirectX 5 patch, DirectX Media 6, & DirectPlay 6.
I have several games that require DirectX 7 to run & would like to run them on my system. I currently have Windows NT 4.0 with SP 6A. I also have the un-official DirectX 5 patch, DirectX Media 6, & DirectPlay 6.1a. I thought I heard a while back that there was a hack to trick programs into thinking they were using a higher version of dx than was installed, but I've never found it so I'm not sure.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks again,
Chris.

Thanks for the info. My laptop is only a P120, so upgrading to Win2K is out of the question . Performance wasn't bad under NT with 144 mb ram so I was trying to avoid upgrading as long as possible. Maybe it is time....
Thanks again.
