Directx in 98se

This is a discussion about Directx in 98se in the Legacy OS category; In Win 2k there is a way to select an app. to run a different version of DirectX. Is there a way to do the same in 98se? I have a few games that do not like DirectX8. 1 and I want to force them to use the older versions they were designed for.

there is a program ...that you can get from www.guru3d.com...that allows your to change your direct x version....it makes a copy of your current one...then you upgrade...make copy...and then it nukes the direct x and you can go back to the prior version..

Do not use DX9.0 BETA. It slows down the computer and your games.
