Directx9 NVIDIA Geforce4 440 Go 64M
I have a Compaq Presario Notebook, with the Nvidia Geforce4 440 Go 64M (NV17M), and Windows XP Home SP2. All of my games are running under Direct x 7. 0 for some reason even though I have 9. 0c installed and my drivers are all up to date.
I have a Compaq Presario Notebook, with the Nvidia Geforce4 440 Go 64M (NV17M), and Windows XP Home SP2. All of my games are running under Direct x 7.0 for some reason even though I have 9.0c installed and my drivers are all up to date. The games, like Halflife2, run perfectly smooth, 100fps usually, its just running under Directx7, as it says so in the options menu of HL2. I can run the DXDIAG video tests, the 3 spinning cubes, and it says it tests the DX9 successfully. The NVIDIA website doesn't offer any information on the NV17M's Direct X capability, and Compaq tech's said is ready for DX9. I am confused, could it be XP SP2? Or am I screwed as far as future games go, otherwise this notebook is awesome, the AMD64 3000+ runs really nice. Any insight?

Hi, i have an HP zv5430 with an nVIDIA GeForce4 440 Go 64Mb too and an AMD64 3200 and DirectX 9.0c. I can play games like Flatout and Midnight Club 2, but this week i bought Fifa soccer 2005 and the game runs extremely quickly, the players "fly". The graphics are cool but the game is very very very very quickly. I don't know the solution to my problem. Did you found a solution to yours? Thank you
