OK, I have a weird one here. I was installing Norton Systemworks on a work computer and right in the middle of it the CD drive disappeared!!!. It poped up with a message saying to put the cd back in the drive. XP doesnt even see it nor does the bios. I have tried taking another cd drive and putting that one in but it isnt seen either. The computer is a 350mhz with 192 mb of ram. I know that the cd had worked before because I installed XP using it. Any suggestions on how to get the drive back would be good.

OP
Thanks for the help but that link didnt have any information for me. I have heard of this problem before but I cant remember how to solve it. Even the bios dont show the secondary channel as being there. I think that I am going to reinitialize the bios with the cmos jumper.
Thanks again for your help AlecStaar
