Diskedit can't read entire hard drive in NT 4.0
This is a discussion about Diskedit can't read entire hard drive in NT 4.0 in the Customization Tweaking category; I like to use the old Norton diskedit program. Unfortunately it only recognizes the 1st gigabyte on my 2 gigabyte hard drive. I'm using NT 4. 0 SP6a on a stand-alone computer. I don't know if this is a problem with the command interpreter.

I don't know if this is a problem with the command interpreter. I've used both cmd.exe and NT's command.com.
Diskedit reads the entire disk when I boot from a floppy with 6.21 DOS, so the size of the disk clearly isn't the problem.
I've tried several different versions of Norton diskedit, but the problem keeps happening.
I have searched the net for an explanation but can't find one. Another diskedit program, by James R. Webster, designed for Windows, has the same flaw. Unfortunately his email address is no longer valid.
