I am almost certain its Norton that does it, does any one else have this problem, and have you solved it.
Ive tried disabling the autoprotect so it doesnt load on startup, but that doesnt stop it.

Thanks for any help, Mark.

it is Norton A/V, it has something to do with the way the service starts. I have done clean installs then installed that program and my install goes from taking less than a minute to about 2-3 minutes before it logs the user on.

I solved the problem by uninstalling NAV2003 and reinstalling NAV2002. The service that is probably taking the time to load is the symevent service. Im not a big fan of Symantec products but NAV is the best program out there for anti-virus. I had used Norton Internet security but after having to reinstall it on a weekly basis i got sick of it. Now i use Sygate personal firewall and a HOSTS file for ad blocking.
