Dungeon Keeper 2 install

This is a discussion about Dungeon Keeper 2 install in the Windows Games category; I've just finished playing Evil Genius again, and still in the mood for that sort of game, am trying to install Dungeon Keeper 2. However, when I try and install, the cursor switches to the pointer with the hourglass for about 5 seconds, then changes back to normal, and nothing opens.

I've just finished playing Evil Genius again, and still in the mood for that sort of game, am trying to install Dungeon Keeper 2. However, when I try and install, the cursor switches to the pointer with the hourglass for about 5 seconds, then changes back to normal, and nothing opens.

However, in task manager, 3 new programs have popped up: 'bfa3C.tmp' using just under 1Mb of memory, and ' wowexec.exe' and ' setup.exe'
Both of those have spaces in front of them, and they are shown with no memory or virtual memory usage.

If I try to end the setup, nothing happens. But when I end the wow one, I get an error: 'The request to end the selected 16 bit task has timed out. The Win 16 Subsystem may be unstable. Press OK to terminate the Win 16 Subsystem or Cancel to leave it running.'

Clicking OK closes all three of the afore mentioned programs.

I have tried putting various exe files into win95 compatability, but to no avail.

Go in and uninstall any reference to Dungeon Keeper and clean out the registry of any references. Then try the install again, wowexec.exe is what supports 16 bit programs in XP.
