Hollywood+ DVD mpeg decoder card drivers?

Hello everyone, I'm trying to get the above card to work with Windows Whistler beta 2 build 2419, but had no luck so far. The 2. 0 drivers from either Videologic or Sigma Designs for Win2000 won't work.

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to get the above card to work with Windows Whistler beta 2 build 2419, but had no luck so far. The 2.0 drivers from either Videologic or Sigma Designs for Win2000 won't work.
I can install the driver and it is recognized as "working properly" in Device manager, but when starting the player app I get the message "MCI Error! - Unknown problem while loading the specified device driver.".

then you'll have to wait till WinXP ships and until Sigma Designs releases compatible drivers, like i've said a thousand times (make this 1001)WinXP is BETA!!

no doubt. You realize that about 90 % of the drivers that ship with MS's operating systems are made by the companies themselves. So if a piece of hardware is having a problem, blame the manufacturer, and you'll have to wait until the manufacturer sends another driver release for XP to MS for them to add in

Don't email Sigma Designs either. It's a beta OS. They SHOULD have drivers when Whistler goes into RC form but they probably won't because there will not be a demand for the OS. Complain to the company on final release of the OS.

I don't remember if the drivers worked for me when I last tried Whistler. I think they did.

I know Whistler is beta, and all I was asking was if there's a way to get the H+ card to work under Win XP. nothing more. nothing less.

Cool it down a little, guys.

thx for the info about modifying INF files... I'll keep looking around... but for what? ;-)

DVD station wont work. Im not sure if hardware decoding works or not because i havent seen any other DVD programs that do hardware decoding through that card besides the one they have.

Anything past 2256 the card won't work end of story.

I have 2419 and H+ has not worked on any build up to this point. Last nite I just gave up My symptoms exactly matched yours)and used PowerDVD 3.0, that seemed to play very well.
Sigma product of mine has been problematic from the beginning, but until DVD support/acceleration got built into Video cards in a fundamental way, and along with faster processors, it ruled. I still like the card. When using ME or W2K, I got an error hardware subvendor ID missing, and until I ran the hwsubid.exe I got from Sigma, it would not work there either. Hmmm, maybe I will try that tonite. (probably won't help, but, hey).

Thanks and Best Regards

Uh, D'oh, Ignore the last sentence about the subvendor ID fix, that was for my other problematic add on card, WinTV, I am getting my cards mixed up.
Sorry.
