DVDROM PROBLEM

Help me, I have a problem with my atapi dvdrom it only run in pio mode in xp. . . . i donot know why i can happen because when i first install xp this problem doesnt exist. .

Make sure under your DVD drive that "DMA If Available" is selected. You may also want to poke around in your BIOS and make sure that "AUTO" is selected for your DVD drive.

i've done all your advice but the problem still occur, i think aspi is my problem, by the way i've used the latest aspi from adaptec and i STILL have this problem.
i try to edit my registry but this cant help me too.... :x

Try using the ASPI drivers bundled with CDRWin.

If u have installed this DVDROM as a slave . c hange it to secondary master. may be you should first of all leave all other cd-rom or slave alone. just the two master and start the XP . see if it works. any way it works on my Pc. then I connect the two slaves. and this cd-rom will stay DMA. but any way u should make sure that you have the correct configuration in Bios and XP Device manager. good Luck :x
