But as all beta's, if u want your system to run fine, don't get it, there is still alot of bugs to work out, and nothing is using DX 9 feature yet anyways... i don't think. (games etc)

On Windows XP, you will need to download the latest Service Pack, or install the corresponding hot fixes. Please see Knowledge Base Articles Q321178, Q307207, and Q318507, for more information.

Just hold back on your re-installation.
In a matter of weeks, a month at most I would have thought, WinXP SP1 will be officially released.
The beta's have been getting better and better, each of the issues I've reported to MS that I found in the beta's have been fixed in subsequent releases.
I'd say it's really close to going gold, MS always said they wanted it out in August.

DX9 Beta 2 is scheduled soon, but when it comes to anything that has to do with gaming, get the final versions only, unless you are planning to format anyways, like I have.
