Epson C82 Driver Problem
I just installed an Epson Stylus C82 printer and driver. The driver included with the printer was marked compatible with Win2000. As it turned out the driver corrupted my registry. I was only able to boot in safe mode.
I just installed an Epson Stylus C82 printer and driver. The driver included with the printer was marked compatible with Win2000. As it turned out the driver corrupted my registry. I was only able to boot in safe mode. The event viewer referred to an "Eplpdx02" problem. As a result I could not remove the driver completely and had to reinstall Win2000.
I have read about Epson and the issue of deleting a print in progress creating problems.
Has anyone heard of this problem with this printer and if so what can be done.

:x I've had THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. I spent over 30 minutes giving the rundown to Epson's 2'nd level support team on this. What type of system are you installing this on? ex motherboard type/chipset type/etc etc. My issues are on a P4 2gig/Asus P4B266 with 1gig ddr ram. MSI geforce 4 MX440 (64 meg) Nvidia. After installing the bundled software the system WILL NOT let go log in except under safe mode. Did you try a reg edit and remove all refferences to Epson? Also something else to try is after installing the Epson software close out and DO NOT REBOOT (or you'll never get in normally) and run the Epson Port uninstaller. I assume like me you'r trying to connect your C82 via USB. I've got more on this issue that might help too, but need more info from ya.
hehe i am not the only one?>..lol
i know i have mobo issues as well, but yeah put in the same printer on my Vaio below, and BAM! would boot up fine, but then freeze the system at the desktop OR as soon as i start a program, b.s.o.d!!!
i have not yet put it in under my new home comp - and not sure if i want too!
