This is a discussion about eVGA 6600GT running hot? in the Windows Hardware category; Hi, I just got a new eVGA 6600GT, it's running idle at about 89-91C. The only thing I've done to it is add copper ramsinks. My system is a Shuttle SN25P, with 1x512MB corsair xms ddr400 and an athlon64 3200+.

With the case off and a house fan directed right on the videocard, gpu idle temp is about 85-86C. I haven't yet tested it under load.

Any ideas? I really don't think this should be running so hot and I can't find any compatability issues on the net anywhere.

If u are really afraid your computer spoilt. I give you suggestion that is: you can open air con to cool it down. Actually that is normal for your eVGA FX6600GT. I think, you dont need to worry about that. actually you can refer to previous poll at this forum... try it... I think it is at this page or previous page only. Iread it before or you can go to read some computer magazines....
