excesive floppy disk seek

This is a discussion about excesive floppy disk seek in the Windows Hardware category; Whenever I run RTCP or Quake 3 or run some app the system scans my floppy disk! before I disable my floppy drive is there a workaround fot this??? My sistem windows XP pro PIII 866 512 mb ram SBLIVE latest xp drivers Winfast titanium TI gforce 2 latest detonator drivers maxtor 40gb HDD

Whenever I run RTCP or Quake 3 or run some app the system scans my floppy disk!
