What does this mean. The Drive it is referring to is an ASUS 16x DVD drive. Most of the times when i get the error is when im entering "My Computer". I can almost tell when i get the error cause when it happens it takes a little longer than normal for the drives to show.
I have tried new IDE-cables with out result. What could it be???
I thought about the drive but i have no problems with it at all.

Is there a CD in the drive when it reports the error? If so, it's possible the CD has some copy protection on it, and Windows can't indentify parts of the CD as actually containing useful data.

If you're not actually having problems with it, I wouldn't worry too much.

OP
yes, there is a CD in the drive. I have had the problem with this CD and a burned CD which also caused problem in another computer. I have played alot of DVD's in the drive which should be the hardest task for it to perform without any problem. Guess i shouldnt worry
