Cannot get to control panel or my computer to try and uninstall the service pack. Any ideas what I might try short of reformating and starting from scratch?

OP
Just to let you know I was able to get into safe mode and then delete service pack 2. After that I was able to open control panel. I also ran BHOdemon because things were still suspect. Found at least 10 bad BHO's disabled them and deleted from the registry. Loaded spybot to run resident on his pc and all is well now.
