I've owned this for less than 24 hours and it's driving me nuts because it keeps returning me to the desktop (no error messages) when going through to actually play the matches.

Interestingly the problem was random and saving the game before each match meant that I could get back up and running but now it seems to pick a certain point in each game I play and not let me any further (i.e. it crashes at the same point).

I'm using an STB TNT 16MB g/card (old I know but fine for the type of games I play) and Win2K (it claims to work fine under this os). I've got the very latest drivers from nVidia and Direct-X 8.1. I've over ridden the refresh rate to force just 60Hz and have the desktop resolution set to the same as the game (800x600) plus closed all running apps.

If anyone can shed some light on what I need to do I'll be very grateful. If it means replacing the g/card then thats fine but please recomend one that should work - this is about the most demanding game I run so I don't need a card that is simply overkill.

Thanks,

Is the game made for Win2K? If not, use QFixApp, and try running it in Win98 layer compatibility.

As far as ea sports are concerned it runs on windows 95/98/2000/ME; I just have a different opinion than them!

Does your GPU meet the game's requirements?

Yep, sorry I should have put those details in.

It only wants a 4MB g/card, 233MHz processor, 32MB RAM, 4x CD-Drive, 300MB hard disk space. The g/card is 8MB, the processor is 500MHz PIII, 384MB RAM, 12x CD-Drive, 1.2GB hard disk space left after installation.

I tried running the game using the win98 compatability option after installing the micrsoft compatability program. That wasn't a great success either - it wouldn't run because it claimed I had a debugger running (which I didn't).

Thanks for trying to help btw!
